5 tips to feel better on a hard day.
REPAIR
Never underestimate the power of repair.
Apologizing and talking through how you were feeling (even to your baby), what you weren’t proud of and what could be done differently can be very therapeutic while also forming healthy habits of mutual respect in the home.
RECOVER. REPAIR. REFLECT. RELEASE.
RELEASE
Give yourself permission to let it all out when you need to. It is 100% okay to feel sad, mad, tired, defeated, uncertain. These are all valid feelings and don’t make you any less of a great mother. They do not define you. The 3 best ways to release emotions from your body are crying, laughing and movement.
SELF COMPASSION
Having the self-compassion to forgive yourself is one of the most loving, freeing things you can do for yourself and your family. Showing compassion for that side of you that is having a hard time can also help to make it less likely to happen as often. Good parents have bad days.
SURRENDER
Meet resistance with rest.
Guilt-free rest to recharge. Allow whatever will be, to be. The truth is some days are really hard and that is completely okay. Take a moment to tune into your body to see what it’s asking for.
EAT FOR ENERGY
Food is the key controller of our state of mind and health. It is the building blocks that create our brain, enabling our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
